Templates
Save a document with its fields and roles and send it again in seconds.
A template keeps a document with its fields and the roles who fill them, so you can send it again in seconds: offer letters, NDAs, client agreements, consent forms.
Make a template
- Open Templates in the top bar and press New template. Or, when sending, tick Also save this document, people and fields as a template for next time.
- Add the document.
- Add roles instead of people, for example "Employee" and "HR manager". Each role has a type: Signs, Approves, Reads and confirms or Gets a copy. You can fix a name and email for a role that is always the same person.
- Place the fields for each role and set the defaults (message, reminders, expiry, privacy).
Send from a template
Press Request signatures and choose Or start from a template, or use the send button on the template. Fill in the name and email for each open role, check the details and send.
Versions
Every change to a template is kept. Open Earlier versions to look back and Restore one if needed. Requests already sent are not affected by later changes.
Sharing templates in a team
Templates belong to your team, so everyone in it sends from the same approved wording. Documents written in the Doc builder can also be saved as team templates with Share as a template with the team.
Free accounts can keep 3 templates. Pro and above have no limit. Templates are also what signing links and bulk send are built on.
