Place fields

Every field type, sizes, required fields, labels, checks and conditions.

In step 3 you show each person where to sign and what to fill in. Pick the person under Who fills it (each person has their own colour), then click a field in the list to drop it on the page, or drag it where you want it. Drag a field to move it and drag its corner to resize it.

Field types

Field	What it does
Signature	The person draws, types or uploads their signature.
Signature block	Signature with name, and optionally job title, company and date, laid out together.
Initials	Their initials, for example at the foot of each page.
Date signed	Fills itself with the date they sign.
Full name, Email, Company, Job title	Filled in for them where we know it; they can change it.
Text	Any text, or checked as a number, email, date, phone number or letters only.
Checkbox, Choice (radio), Dropdown	Tick boxes and lists of options.
Number, Calculated	Numbers, and totals worked out from other fields.
Attachment	The person uploads a file (up to 3 MB), such as a copy of their ID or insurance.
Note	A message shown to the person while they sign. Not printed in the signed copy.
Pricing table, Payment	Line items with tax and discount, and card payment collected at signing.

Field settings

Click a field to see its settings on the right:

Assigned to: move the field to another person.
Required and Label shown to the signer.
Must be (Text fields): Any text, Number, Email address, Date, Phone number or Letters only.
Options (one per line) for dropdowns and choices.
Text style (size, alignment, bold) and size: Small, Medium, Large or Fit to space.
Copy to every page, Duplicate, Delete field. Shift-click several fields to line them up or space them evenly.
With several documents in one request, Same on all N documents repeats a signature, initials or date field on each.

Tick Fit new fields between the lines of text so new fields are sized to the gap they are dropped into.

Smart settings

Field name: used in formulas, conditions, routing rules and the API.
Prefilled value, with Signer cannot change it to lock it.
Show this field only when another field is ticked, not ticked, equals a value, has any value or is empty.
Formula for Calculated fields, using + - * /, brackets, {field name}, round(), min(), max() and if(). Show it as a number, money or a percent.

Collect a payment

Add a Payment field and set the Amount to collect (a fixed amount, or the total of a pricing table) and the Description on the receipt. First connect Stripe in Account settings under Get paid. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account; Sign Officially takes no cut.

Every person who signs needs at least one Signature, Signature block or Initials field. Sending is blocked until they have one.
