Getting started

Create your account, send your first document and sign your first PDF.

Sign Officially lets you send documents for legally binding electronic signature, sign your own PDFs, and use more than 50 PDF tools. Most PDF tools need no account at all.

1. Create your account

  1. Go to Create your account. Enter Your name, Email and a Password of at least 10 characters, tick the terms box and press Create account. You can also use Continue with Google or Continue with WorkOfficially.
  2. Open the email we send and confirm your address. Until then a banner says Confirm your email to send signature requests. with a Resend link button.

2. Send your first document for signature

  1. Press Request signatures in the top bar.
  2. Drop in your PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or a photo.
  3. Add the people who sign: a full name and an email for each.
  4. Place a Signature field for each person (or let Sign Officially find the signature lines for you).
  5. Check the title and message and press Encrypt and send.

Each person gets an email with a link. They need no account. When everyone has signed, you all get the signed PDF with its certificate. Full detail: Send a document for signature.

3. Or sign something yourself

On the Documents page press Sign yourself, add the PDF, place your signature and press Sign now. Nobody is emailed and it does not count towards your monthly requests. See Sign a document yourself.

Find your way around

  • Top bar: Documents, Templates, Contracts, Links, Bulk send, Team, PDF tools and the Request signatures button.
  • Your account menu (your picture or initials, top right): Account settings, Signed by me, Sealed until, Security and two-step login, Plan and billing, Team, Deal rooms, Doc builder, Automations, Content library, API and webhooks, PDF tools, Help and support, Log out, and Switch team if you belong to more than one team.
  • Documents shows everything you have sent with its status, folders, search and exports.
